Organ Dedicated to the Glory of God, May 18

The renovated Skinner organ will be dedicated to the glory of God on May 18.

First Congregational Church of Saginaw, 403 South Jefferson, invites the public to the formal dedication of the restored and rebuilt instrument taking place on Sunday, May 18, 4:00 p.m.

The event will include the singing of beloved hymns, recitation of prayers, presentation of choral anthems, and performance of organ solos.  First Congregational Church’s Chancel Choir will join with the choral ensemble Exultate Deo, founded by Robert Sabourin, and guest singers from the Great Lakes Bay Region.  Dr. Steven Egler, the congregation’s Artist in Residence, will preside at the console. “Organ Reborn” by Marion Tincknell will be read with improvisations performed by Nicholas Schmelter, Minister of Music.

A reception will follow in the Bradley House.
